Editor’s Choice: Outland Living Series 50,000 BTU Fire Table

One of the finest propane fire pit tables that we’ve reviewed, and the one that we consider to be the best, is this one from Outland. This is a model that has the size, the power, and the style to make it the centerpiece of any outdoor area. And that’s why we’ve placed it firmly at the top of our list. Although this model does cost more than other fire tables we’ve seen, we think that its quality makes it worthy of its price tag.

This table is approximately 44-inches long, 32-inches wide, and 24-inches high. It also weighs a little less than 100-pounds. This is a table that’s made with an aluminum frame and it features an 8mm glass-tempered glass tabletop. This product also comes with 15.5-pounds of decorative glass that provides a beautiful look to the flame when the unit is on. Underneath the table, a standard 20-pound propane table can be stored and easily concealed from view. This table is capable of producing 50,000 BTU/hour of heat, so guests can congregate it in warmth.

Some of the features that can be found on this table include a pre-attached 3-foot hose that comes equipped with a regulator, an aluminum-frame construction with UV HDPE wicker that’s designed to last for a very long time, especially if the consumer keeps it properly covered when it’s not in use. It also has chrome-plate valve knobs that allow the consumer to adjust the height of the flames as needed.

Of all of the fire tables we’ve reviewed, we feel that this one is the best because of the care put into its details and the quality of the materials used to make it. This is a table that anyone can enjoy sitting around, even in some of the coldest conditions imaginable, and know that they will remain warm. It’s also a table that’s suitable for use during the rest of the year as well.

PROS:

  • The fire pit provides 50,000 BTU/Hr. of heat.
  • It comes with a tempered glass tabletop.
  • It comes with Arctic Ice decorative glass.
CONS:

  • This fire table costs more than some cheaper models.

The next table on our list is this model. This propane fire pit table is approximately 43.5-inches long, 24.5-inches high, and is 27.5-inches wide. This is a product that has a glass tabletop and a brown rattan design that fits in with just about any décor. Like most other fire pit tables of this sort, it uses 20-pound propane tanks that fit underneath the table and is easily hidden from view.

This product is made with a burner that’s made out of 304 stainless steel and is capable of producing up to 50,000 BTUs/hr. That’s a whole lot of warmth for consumers to enjoy during the winter months. It’s also worth mentioning that although the table has a rattan exterior, it’s the frame is made out of durable aluminum. This allows the table to be lightweight but extremely durable as well.

This table has a tempered glass surface that’s approximately 2/10ths of an inch thick and will hold up to regular use quite well. This unit is also equipped with a push flame control knob that allows the consumer to turn the table’s flame on/off and adjust its height easily. It’s also equipped with a push-button ignition for starting it up easily.

If there was one thing that we didn’t like about this product, it was the fact that we didn’t feel it came with enough fire glass. This table only comes with enough blue fire glass stone to get started—and it’s barely enough to cover the burner. So the first order of anyone purchasing this table fire pit is going to have to be to purchase more fire glass.

The last thing we’d like to mention about this product is that it’s easy to assemble, even though all of the directions for this product are pictographs and there are no written instructions. With that said, we feel that although this might not be the best propane fire pit table, it is a very good one that can be purchased at an affordable price.

PROS:

  • This is a good size fire table.
  • This product looks very nice.
  • It provides up to 50,000 BTU/Hr of heat.
CONS:

  • It doesn’t come with enough glass rocks.

Also Consider: Bali Outdoors 42-Inch 50,000 BTU Fire Pit Table

The last propane fire pit table that we’d like to review is this one from Bali Outdoors. This is a model that’s a little bit smaller than comparable models that we’ve reviewed, but it is also a model that is significantly less expensive. It’s a product that we’re sure will find a place in many of our readers’ outdoor spaces and we highly recommend it.

This table is approximately 42-inches by 25-inches and is 23-inches high. It’s equipped with a 16×16-inch burner that’s made out of stainless steel and provides up to 50,000 BTU/hr of heat. To cover the stainless-steel burner, the product comes with approximately 15-pounds of blue fire glass, which seems to be enough to keep it covered.

This product’s base allows for a 20-pound propane tank to be hidden inside of it, and it also has a control knob on the front of it that can be used to control the fire pit. This table comes with a hose valve set and well-written instructions as well.

Because this table has a large side area next to the flame, it’s also easy to use for serving dinner for one or two people. That makes those romantic evenings on the patio a reality all year round.

Since this product weighs under 80-pounds, it’s also one that’s easy to move around an outdoor space. And because it uses a Piezo ignition system, it’s also a fire table that’s easy to start and run. All of these features, and its sleek design, make this a fire table that we think a lot of our readers are going to appreciate.

PROS:

  • This is an inexpensive fire pit table.
  • It provides up to 50,000 BTU/Hr of heat.
CONS:

  • This table is smaller than some other comparable models.

A Guide To Propane Fire Pit Tables

We hope that the propane fire pit tables that we’ve selected for our reader’s consideration help them to find the table that fits their outdoor space and entertaining needs. We really do. However, we know that our work isn’t done here—that we can’t simply select the three tables that we feel are the best and be done with it. We know that we also should give our readers a helpful guide that will help them choose the best propane fire pit table—regardless of whether or not it’s on our list. With that said, this is such a guide and is one that hopefully helps all of our readers find that perfect fire table.

A Quick Word About Propane Fire Tables

Before we officially begin this guide, we need to tell our readers an important fact about these tables. That fact is that these tables are designed to be used with propane fire tanks and aren’t designed to be connected to large propane tanks that power the entire home. Sure, there may be one or two models that do exist, but for the most part, these tables require the use of 20-pounds tanks.

However, that’s a good thing because that means the consumer can hook up their own propane tank and it also means that the table is portable. Tables that are connected to household tanks need to be professionally installed, and they can’t be moved from one location to another. Just something to keep in mind while shopping for a new propane fire pit table.

Choosing The Right Size

Now, let’s get on with this guide. One of the most frequently asked questions when people are looking for fire pit tables is what size they need. And while that might seem like a loaded question that could have a ton of different answers depending on how the table is used, it’s really not all that difficult. It just requires the consumer to keep the size of their space in mind while they’re thinking about the table they need.

Firepit tables that are 25-inches or less are ideal for locations that aren’t very big. These tables are good for porches, patios, or decks. Firepit tables that are over 40-inches in size are suitable for larger areas. They provide plenty of space for people to sit around it and often become the hub of outdoor entertainment space.

Consider The Fire Pit Table’s Shape

The next thing that the consumer is going to want to consider is the shape of the fire pit. They’re going to want to make sure that the shape reflects their aesthetic style, first and foremost, and looks right in the space where it’s going to be used. Although all of the best models that we’ve reviewed are rectangular, these tables come in a variety of other shapes as well as we’ve illustrated below:

  • Square Fire Pits
  • Rectangle Fire Pits
  • Oval Fire Pits
  • Round Fire Pits
  • Hexagon Fire Pits

Consider The Fire Pit’s Construction

It’s also important for the consumer to consider how the fire pit table is constructed. How the table is constructed will determine how long it will hold up to outdoor use. We advise that any fire pit table the consumer buys should have an aluminum or steel frame, a stainless steel burner, and to have a glass-tempered top that’s at least 2/10ths of an inch thick or thicker.

Think About The Power Output

How much heat the table produces is also a prime concern for most people. After all, they want a table that generates enough heat that they can sit around it not only on those hot summer nights but also on bitterly cold days. And to do that, the table should produce at least 40,000 BTUs/heat an hour or more.

BTUs, or British Thermal Units, tell the consumer how much heat the table produces. The higher the BTUs, the more heat the unit produces. So that’s one of the more important specs that the consumer should consider when purchasing one of these tables.

Additional Features For The Consumer To Think About

Of course, all of the above features aren’t the only thing that the consumer needs to think about. There are also a few other features that the consumer might want to think about. Features that can make an already good model into a great one, or a poor one into a serviceable one. Below are some features that the consumer might want to think about when choosing a new propane fire pit table.

  • Piezo Ignition
  • Propane Tank Storage Space
  • Easy-To-Use Burner Control
  • Pre-Attached Propane Hose With A Regulator
